We're always in need of volunteers willing to officiate our AAA, Majors, Juniors, and Seniors division games. With over a dozen games across all division levels each week, we need umpires for each one.

Junior Umpires (Ages 12+)
Woodlawn is pleased to have a Junior Umpire program where any player league age 12 or older can undertake training offered by the league. Junior umpires learn how to officiate games starting at the AAA level and work their way up with experience. Adult umpires frequently join the junior umpires on the field to help mentor and instruct our younger officials to ensure they know the rules, the mechanics of umpiring, and how to effectively officiate games.
Our Junior Umpires are compensated for their participation, so young baseball enthusiasts can learn the game even more deeply and make some extra money.

Adult Umpires
Our adult volunteer umpires officiate games at all levels of play, but for safety we have experienced adults officiating our older divisions of play. Adult umpires are critical for Majors, Juniors, and Seniors games.
- Training provided—no prior experience necessary
- Flexible scheduling—work as many or as few games as you'd like
- Stipend for each game worked
- Special opportunity to mentor junior umpires and work games alongside your child
Training and Equipment
Little League International hosts several online training sessions to provide background and training information to current and prospective umpires. These sessions are convened at the start of each Spring season where interested adults and junior umpires can learn the mechanics of officiating baseball games. Woodlawn Little League also hosts on-field training sessions, as needed, to instruct and familiarize junior umpires or new adult umpires with the mechanics of officiating.
